ABOUT MICHAEL HUNSAKER
Michael is a filmmaker. He's written and directed several short films including: Status Update, Goodnight Moon, and Fell for You at Auld Lang Syne, which was an official selection of the 2015 Orlando Film Festival. Michael worked as 1st AD on the short film Polaroids (3 festival showings) and the web-series No Good Deeds. He is an experienced Editor, 2nd AD, and Script Supervisor.
Michael has been a professional actor for about 20 years. He is a member of AEA and has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway and stages all over the country. He recently performed the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables in several regional productions. He won a BroadwayWorld Award, and an LA Scenie for his performance. Also a member of SAG/AFTRA, Michael has appeared on HBO, ABC, CBS, and NBC, and in several feature films.
Michael can be heard on the original cast albums of Listen to My Heart, and Stephen Schwartz’s Children of Eden. Michael has recorded two solo albums: Keeping Composure, and Another Stage (an album of original music).
Michael has also written the musicals Fetching Water, Measure for Measure, and Out of Frame. His musicals have been workshopped at the York theatre, Playwrights Horizons and The Human Race Theatre. Michael is currently in pre-production to turn his musical Out of Frame into a feature-length movie-musical.
Michael has traveled the world three times over when he performed on the luxury cruise ship, Crystal Symphony. Being able to see the world and meet people from almost every culture has helped Michael understand the scope of how art can affect the world we live in.
Michael recently received his MFA in Film Production from Full Sail University, and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida State University. Michael is in the process of starting his production company, Poseable Figures Productions, based in New York City.
